Coast Guard holds Change of Command Ceremony Monday

The official Change of Command Ceremony was held Monday morning at Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod. According to the USCG, it is a time-honored ceremony symbolizing the continuity of command.  

According to the program, the ceremony symbolizes that "the authority of command has passed, without interruption, from one individual to another."

During the ceremony, outgoing Commander Officer David G. Throop gave over command to CO Captain Stephen H. Torpey.
