Falmouth Police Blotter: 6/17 to 6/24/13

Break-ins, suspicious vehicles and three OUI (two of which were second offenses)

During the period of Monday, June 17, 2013 through Monday, June 24, 2013, the officers of the Falmouth Police Department responded to 572 calls for service.

During the week there were 9 reported larcenies, 12 reported residential break-ins, 2 commercial break-ins, 3 motor vehicle/trailer break-ins, 4 stolen vehicles and 4 reports of shoplifting.

There were 3 suicide attempts/threats reported, 3 section 35 (alcohol/drugs) and two reported overdoses.

Two restraining orders were reportedly violated and there were 3 reports each of missing persons, threats, trespassing and domestic disturbance.

Four assault and batteries were reported, 22 disorderly disturbances, 6 suspicious persons, 10 suspicious vehicles, one prowler, one unwanted guest and five intoxicated persons.

People reported hearing gunshots on two separate occasions and there were 6 reports of vandalism.

Three people were arrested during motor vehicle stops and charged with OUI. For two of the three, it was a second offense.

There were 9 people placed under arrest and 7 people taken into protective custody.

  • Sunday, June 23 at 8:21 p.m., Shaun M. Lewis, 25, of 350 Palmer Ave. in Falmouth, was arrested during a reported restraining order violation on Palmer Ave., and charged with violating an abuse prevention order.
  • Saturday, June 22 at 1:16 p.m., Bruce W. Fernandes, 58, of 26 Roberta Jean Circle in E. Falmouth, was arrested following a motor vehicle crash at Jones Road and Nursery Road and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked license (subsequent offense), operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration (subsequent offense) and operating an uninsured vehicle (subsequent offense).
  • Saturday, June 22 at 12:30 p.m., Earl Darwin May, 52, of 17 Court in Boston, was placed under arrest during a disorderly disturbance call on Water Street and charged with OUI liquor-2nd offense, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked license (subsequent offense) and trespassing with a motor vehicle.  A second man was placed under protective custody during the call.
  • Friday, June 21 at 1:44 a.m., Manuel J. Botelho, Jr., 39, of 31 Neves Way in East Falmouth, was placed under arrest during a motor vehicle stop at Central Ave. and East Falmouth Highway and charged with OUI liquor-2nd offense, operating to endanger and a marked lane violation.
  • Wednesday, June 19 at 2:22 a.m., Sean P. Koval, 18, of 79 Seacoast Shores Blvd. in East Falmouth, was placed under arrest during a motor vehicle stop on Fresh Pond Road and charged with OUI liquor, operating to endanger, failure to stop/yield, speeding and a marked lane violation.
  • Tuesday, June 18 at 10:45 a.m., Gerald Cardoza, 31, of 132 Homestead Lane in E. Falmouth, was placed under arrest during an attempt to locate call on Homestead Lane on an open warrant.
  • Tuesday, June 18 at 8:35 a.m., Jason D. Tenney, 24, of 203 Teaticket Highway Apt. 2 in E. Falmouth, was placed under arrest during a warrant service on Seacoast Shores Blvd. on an open warrant.
  • Monday, June 17 at 11:46 p.m., Eduardo L. Fernandez, 33, of Marstons Mills, was placed under arrest during a motor vehicle stop on Sandwich Road on four open warrants.
  • Monday, June 17 at 11:47 a.m., Kimberly A. Johnson, 42, of 321 Old Meeting House Road in Falmouth, was placed under arrest during a warrant service on Palmer Ave. She had two open warrants.

There were also 22 motor vehicle accidents reported in town:

  • Sunday, June 23 at 5:01 p.m. at Palmer Ave. and Katharine Lee Bates Road
  • Sunday, June 23 at 2:15 p.m. on Sandwich Road
  • Saturday, June 22 at 1:16 p.m. at Jones Road and Nursery Road, resulting in one arrest
  • Saturday, June 22 at 12:27 p.m. at Carriage Shop Road and Parsons Lane
  • Saturday, June 22 at 11:35 a.m. at Teaticket Highway and Trotting Park Road
  • Friday, June 21 at 5:49 p.m. on Edgewater Drive East
  • Friday, June 21 at 3:32 p.m. on Teaticket Highway
  • Friday, June 21 at 2:21 p.m. on Main Street
  • Thursday, June 20 at 8:26 p.m. on Teaticket Highway
  • Thursday, June 20 at 7:57 a.m. at Jones Road and Palmer Ave.
