A foggy 4th of July parade in Chatham

It was "hats off to Chatham" on the 4th
An interesting assortment of characters marched in Chatham's annual 4th of July parade. Photo by Pat Brooks.

A thin grey fog hung over Chatham Thursday morning as this year's Independence Day Parade began at 9am.

This year's theme was "Hats off to Chatham".

Floats featured lobsters and locals, pirates and politicos and a shark or two from the Chatham Sharks in the Park installation.

It was in the high 70s instead of the low 90s like the rest of New England - fog, blessed Chatham fog.

See the Chatham 4th of July Parade slide show below.

That's my son Todd and brother Jim and sister-in-law Sandra Twite in the first photo.

Look for my beautiful blonde, blue eyed granddaughter sitting in the blue-striped chair watching the parade and the perpetual protestor Sarah Thatcher later in the slide show just before the photo of of the Hydrangea Walk house..
