Here's a CLUE: Cape thespians wanted

Auditions open for fall performances
Get a CLUE, Cape actors and try out for HJT's newest musical.

Was it Mrs. Peacock in the conservatory with the knife? Colonel Mustard in the billiards room with the rope?  If you like murder and musicals and you can act and sing, auditions for CLUE, the Musical will be held at the Harwich Junior Theatre this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Director Mary Arnault is in need of eight actors--5 men and 3 women--all over 18--to play the colorful characters of CLUE, plus Mr. Boddy and the Detective:

  • MR. BODDY – charismatic, handsome, playful host; soaring baritone/tenor
  • MRS. PEACOCK – acerbic, manipulative, sexy socialite; plays 40s; mezzo with belt
  • PROFESSOR PLUM – astute intellectual with a wry sense of humor; plays 30s-40s; baritone
  • MISS SCARLET – shrewd, very attractive vixen; plays 20s; wide vocal range with belt
  • COLONEL MUSTARD – pompous, randy military man; plays 40s-50s; baritone
  • MRS. WHITE – fun-loving cockney maid, portrayed by a man; plays 40s-50s; wide vocal range
  • MR. GREEN – slick, handsome wheeler-dealer; 20s; baritone/tenor
  • DETECTIVE – hard-nosed, snappy, humorous female; 30s; interesting singing voice 

Auditions are from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

Prepare a favorite song from musical theater and bring along your sheet music. 

CLUE, the Musical will be staged October 31 through November 24, 2013.
