"Mad Fisherman" to be Grand Marshal for 2014 Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade

Singers, sports stars and now a celebrity fisherman takes the top role

The organizers of the Cape's popular St. Patrick's Parade announced this week that celebrity fisherman and TV personality Charlie Moore will be at the helm as Grand Marshal during the 2014 parade.

Moore is the host of Charlie Moore Outdoors on NESN and Charlie Moore: No Offense on the NBC Sports Network. In September Moore visited Red Sox catcher and 2013 World Series champ Jarrod Saltalamacchia at his South Florida home where they, you guessed it, fished.

Moore's colorful nickname, "The Mad Fisherman", is also the name of his 2008 memoir.

Fast-talking and often brash, "He'll bring his signature high energy and big personality to both the parade and the Grand Marshal's dinner," said Cape Cod St. Patrick's Parade Co-Chair John Fallon, "He's a real fun factor!"

The annual parade, which draws thousands of spectators, will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Yarmouth. This year, the parade follows a new route in Yarmouth and will not be entering Dennis as it has in previous years.

Boxer "Irish" Micky Ward, American Idol Finalist Siobhan Magnus and Bruins legend Derek Sanderson have led the parade in previous years.

Complete details and parade route are available on the website here.
