Bart Weisman joins local arts foundation's board of directors

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod welcomed Bart Weisman, their newest board member, aboard last month. Weisman is a local musician, band leader, teacher and the founder and producer of the Provincetown Jazz Festival.

From behind his drum kit, Weisman leads several jazz ensembles who perform all over the Cape. He has played with American Idol finalist Siobhan Magnus, the Jersey Boys, the late Lou Colombo and most recently, Jay Geils at the 9th annual Provincetown Jazz Festival.

"Bart is a great professional musician that has a deep understanding an mission of the Arts Foundation," said AFCC executive director Kevin Howard. The foundation is the "region's designated arts agency", according to a release.

In addition to performing year-round and organizing the Provincetown Jazz Festival annually in August, Weisman is the music instructor and director of the CJazz Program at the Cape Cod Conservatory of Music & Art.
