Falmouth single-vehicle car crash sends five to hospital

Crash caused limited power outages Saturday night

FALMOUTH - Five people were transported to Falmouth Hospital Saturday night following a single-vehicle crash on Route 151 near Cloverfield Way. The crash occurred around 11:43 p.m., according to a Falmouth police release.

An investigation by police indicates that the vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail and a utility pole, then came to rest at the base of an embankment on its roof.

The driver and four passengers were taken to the hospital, all with injuries deemed non life-threatening, police said.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. The driver was not identified and police did not indicate if there would be charges related to the crash.

Limited power outages were reported in the area of the crash. Route 151 is open to traffic and utility repairs were expected to continue into the early afternoon.
