Those quintessential cottages are actually in Truro

Sunsets over Cape Cod can be quite stunning given our beautiful landscapes and ocean views. Here (see larger photo below), the winter sun sets over Cape Cod Bay along Shore Road in North Truro. That's right, North Truro. Those quintessential cottages that evoke thoughts of sand dunes and summer vacations in Provincetown are actually in North Truro.

In the summertime, Shore Road, or Route 6A, is a bustling vein of activity with folks taking the scenic road to the Cape's tip.  Drivers must fight the impulse to take in the water views, colorful kites, the dunes and the Pilgrim Monument as they dodge, runners, walkers and bicyclists along the narrow road that runs parallel to Route 6 for a spell.

If you are interested in a cottage that is only a hop, skip and a jump from the warm waters of the bay, you'll surely find one here.
