Two Nauset  Regional women pen a Christmas poem to the Orleans Masons

Dr. Maggie Mack has worked with the Masonic Angel Fund since its very beginning in 1998. As school counselor at Wellfleet Elementary School she has made dozens of referrals to the Masonic Angels over the years and has never come away empty-handed.

Barbara Dominic, social worker at Nauset Regional Middle School, has worked with the Masons for over five years and reports a similar experience. When the Masonic Angel Fund cannot directly fund one of Ms. Dominic’s requests, they can usually point her in the direction of an organization that can.

Both women spoke at Thursday night’s 15th anniversary celebration for the Masonic Angel Foundation at Universal Lodge in Orleans (see the story below).

In an evening of many poignant moments, Dr. Mack and Ms. Dominic provided a wonderfully whimsical moment with their adaptation of “Twas the Night before Christmas”, as recounted below.

Twas the MAF’s 15th Celebration

by Maggie Mack and Barbara Dominic

Twas the night of the 15th celebration and all through the Lodge
The Masons were stirring and cooking, moving about with a dodge.

The tables were set and decorated with care
In hopes that the invited guests would soon all be there.

The reason for this celebration was so very right
For the Masons have helped bring gifts many a night.

From food, to car repairs to laptops and more,
Not just a helping hand, but so much support for

Our community is better because they are here
For when we say there is a need, they are always near.

Be donation, grant suggestion, heating oil, you name it,
Their endeavors rise to the challenge and make it all fit.

The Masons spring into action, they're a fine working team
They keep giving to make things better – it is their theme.

You always know that they keep the good in sight
Here’s to the MAF’s 15th Celebration, one tremendous night!
