Appointment will run through May 2014

The Town of Mashpee is seeking to fill a vacancy on the town's Cape Cod Regional Technical High School Committee. Residents interested in applying for the position must send a letter of interest to the Town Moderator c/o Town Clerk, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649.

Letters of interest must be received by Friday, December 27, 2013.

The appointment will expire at the May 2014 Annual Town Election.

The Cape Cod Regional Technical High School's School Committee is made up of two representatives from the towns of Barnstable, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis, Eastham, Harwich, Mashpee, Orleans, Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Yarmouth. Mashpee is one of three towns with only one representative on the board. Mashpee's current school committee member is David Bloomfield.

Recently, a Cape Cod Times article about tech school access to public school students created a brouhaha. See Mashpee Superintendent Brian Hyde's response to the article here.
