Inside Barnstable Town Government classes begin in February

Learn about Barnstable inside and out during 11-week academy

The Inside Barnstable Town Government - Citizens Leadership Academy is set to begin on February 5, 2014. This will be the 21st session offered by the town. 

Classes will be held over the course of eleven weeks on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a variety of locations. The academy is facilitated by Susan French and Meg Loughran.

Participants will learn about the operations and challenges of governing a town from Town of Barnstable staff. Classes include interactive experiences, group discussions and site tours, according to a release from the Town. There will also be a bus tour of the seven villages of Barnstable.

Topics include the history of the town and its government, police and fire services, schools and libraries, finance and much more. See the class schedule with a full list of topics here.

Applications are available at the Town Manager's Office, 367 Main Street in Hyannis or online at the town's website. The class is free, but class size is limited.
