Coming soon: Cape theaters announce spring/summer line up

Get ready for Freud, Felix Unger, Tennessee Williams

Fans of the Cape Cod theater scene will be pleased to know the coming year will be full of drama, adventure, humor and great surprises. It's sneak peek time and two of the Cape's most popular theaters have announced their 2014 season.

Cape Playhouse in Dennis

With Producer Mark Cuddy at the helm, the Cape Playhouse will be offering six shows including an American classic, two musicals, a farce, a comedy and a meeting of the minds.

The season begins with Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple" (June 9-21) featuring the unlikely duo of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger, followed up by another unlikely pair of Sigmund Freud and C. S. Lewis in "Freud's Last Session" (June 23-July 5). They will pump up the energy with the musical "1776" (July 7-19), then on to the romantic English farce, "Perfect Wedding" (July 21-August 2). It's back to some down home toe-tapping in "Pump Boys and Dinettes" (August 4-16), then finishing up the season with the comedy "Almost, Maine" (August 18-30).
