Sewer construction, road work to continue in Chatham this week

Work to be done weather permitting

Weather-permitting, sewer construction and road work is expected to continue in Chatham during the week of March 3rd. In a release, Director of Health & Environment Robert Duncanson said the work is expected to start up again on Monday.

Work is done between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Road where sewer construction is being done will be open on nights, weekends and holidays.

On Monday, March 3, water installation will be done on Harding Lane and Elizabeth Way. Drainage work on Stage Harbor Road is expected to be completed on Monday as well. While the Stage Harbor Road work is done, traffic will be detoured to Cedar Street, Battlefield Road and Champlain Road.

If patching work is done, it will take place later in the week and will result in shifting road closures.

Police officers will be at work sites and signage will be present to keep motorists informed.

Phase 1A of the sewer construction project was completed in 2012. Phase 1B began during fall 2013. Additional information about the project is available on the town's website here.
