Town of Orleans to hold proposed FY15 budget hearing March 12

Budget available for review online or at the town hall

The Town of Orleans will hold a proposed FY15 budget hearing on Wednesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Orleans Town Hall.

The public hearing is jointly presented by the Orleans Board of Selectmen and the Orleans Finance Committee in accordance with Section 8-3-2 of the town's home rule charter.

The town is expecting an increase in state aid and an increase in the hotel/meal tax. The town is projecting increases in the police budget and decreases in the fire budget.  Tonnage fees at the transfer station will increase and the town will see a savings in street light operation due to an LED retrofit project.

Town administrator John Kelly is proposing the consolidation of certain operating and building expense budgets to allow for more flexibility the budgeting of resources.
