Chatham to host 5th annual book & media swap March 21 & 22

Swap everything from vinyl to DVD and anything in between

On March 21 & 22, the Town of Chatham will host its 5th annual book and media swap. The event is sponsored by ChathamRecycles.  Resident swappers are welcome to drop off unwanted items and choose something new to take home.

The event will be held on Friday, March 21 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Town Annex, 261 George Ryder Road.

Participants are welcome to drop off unwanted items at the Permit Office at that address now through swap day, Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The swap is held each year in an effort to keep re-usable media out of the waste stream. Any and all media including books, CDs, DVDs, VHS  tapes, cassette tapes and vinyl records may be dropped off. The only thing off limits? Encyclopedias.

According to ChathamRecycles, you can take home books, music and movies even if you haven't dropped anything off.

For more information about the swap or about Chatham's recycling efforts, visit the ChathamRecycles website here or call 508-945-5164.
