Bourne deadline for nomination papers looms

Papers available until Friday, must be filed by 4/1

If you are interested in running for a town position in Bourne you better hurry. Nomination papers are available through this Friday, March 28 in the Town Clerk's Office at Bourne Town Hall, 24 Perry Avenue in Buzzards Bay.

Once you have your nomination papers in hand, you have until Tuesday, April 1 to file them with the Town Clerk.

The following positions are open for election:

  • Moderator - 1 seat, 1-year term, incumbent: Robert Parady
  • Selectmen/Sewer Commissioner - 1 seat, 3-year term, incumbent: Earl Baldwin
  • Board of Health - 2 seats, 3-year term, incumbents: Stanley Andrews and Kathleen Peterson
  • Planning Board - 3 seats, 3-year term, incumbents: Dudley Jensen, Lea Benson and John Howarth
  • Planning Board - 1 seat, 1-year term, incumbent: Robert Galibois (appointed)
  • Community Building Trustee (Veteran) - 1 seat, 1-year term, incumbent: Charles Noyes
  • Community Building Trustee (Non-Veteran) - 1 seat, 1-year term, incumbent: George Sala
  • Jonathan Bourne Library Trustee - 2 seats, no term listed, incumbents: Stephanie Kelly and Joan Simpson
  • School Committee Member - 3 seats, 3-year term, incumbents: Jonathan O'Hara, Catherine Watson and Laura Scena
  • Bourne Recreation Authority - 1 seat, 3-year term, incumbent: Gregory Folino
  • Bourne Housing Authority - 1 seat, 2-year term, incumbent: Ann Geary Roche (appointed)

The Town Election will be held on Tuesday, May 20.  The annual Town Meeting is set for Monday, May 5.
