Falmouth police search for Main Street bank robber

Suspect fled the First Citizens' Federal Credit Union on Main Street with an undisclosed amount of cash

FALMOUTH - Falmouth police are searching for the suspect who robbed the First Citizens' Federal Credit Union at 352 Main Street in Falmouth Thursday afternoon. According to a Falmouth police release, officers were dispatched to the bank just after 4:30 p.m. when a 911 call came into the department.

A bank employee told police a man had fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The bank is located in a high traffic area on Main Street, across the street from the Falmouth Public Library.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

Falmouth police have released few details about the robbery or the suspect, but promise an active investigation is underway.

Barnstable County Sheriff's Office deputies are assisting with the investigation, police said.
