Eventide Arts announces auditions for "Born Yesterday"

Rehearsals start in August, show runs in October

Eventide Arts this week announced auditions for "Born Yesterday". Called a 'deliciously witty screwball comedy," the play was written by Garson Kanin and premiered on Broadway in 1946.

The show will be directed by John Williams. Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gertrude Lawrence Stage at the Dennis Union Church.

Actors should be ready to read from a prepared script. Roles are available for two women and five men. Role descriptions will be available on the Eventide website.

Rehearsals for "Born Yesterday" will begin in late August and the show will run in October for three weekends.

A small stipend is available for actors and stage crew.

Questions may be directed to Toby Wilson, Eventide Arts Artistic Director at 774-521-8055.

The Gertrude Lawrence Stage is in the Dennis Union Church at 713 Main Street/Route 6A in Dennis Village.
