When will the other shoe drop?

Last night the Orleans Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 to request the resignation of Orleans Board of Health chairman Job Taylor III and Vice-Chairman Augusta McKusick.

Orleans Town Clerk Cynthia S. May this afternoon informed Cape Cod Today that Augusta McKusick submitted a letter of resignation to the town clerk’s office at 11:11 a.m. today, effective June 5, 2014.

No word yet on whether Chairman Taylor will resign or if voters will initiate a recall petition seeking his removal.

As accusations flew this past week surrounding the conduct of Chairman Jeb Taylor and BOH member Augusta McKusick, any citizen with an Internet connection could visit the town’s website and watch the entire meeting. Those with less time could find clips of the offensive moments in many places online as the incident went viral.

Today's resignation is a result of that exposure.
