Mashpee seeks to fill school committee vacancy

Appointment to last until May 2015 election

The Town of Mashpee is seeking a candidate for the Mashpee School Committee. According to a notice from the town, the appointed candidate would retain the seat until the May 2015 town election.

The chairman of the Mashpee School Committee is Scott McGee, Don Myers is the vice chair, Joan Oliver is the secretary and Christopher Santos is a committee member. 

The Mashpee School Committee holds two meetings each month, a regular meeting on the first Wednesday of the month and a finance meeting on the third Wednesday of the month. The committee is responsible for the general governance of the Mashpee Public Schools and meets regularly with Superintendent Brian Hyde and Renee Pocknett of the Tribal Education Department.
