Wellfleet public parking lot gets a facelift this week

Route 6/Lecount Hollow Road lot to be paved Tuesday

The public parking lot at Route 6 and Lecount Hollow Road in Wellfleet is getting a facelift this week. On Tuesday, June 24 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., the lot is scheduled to be paved.

Pre-paving work will be done on Monday, June 23 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The lot serves the Wellfleet Chamber of Commerce, the South Wellfleet Post Office and several popular shops including South Wellfleet General Store and the Wellfleet Beachcomber Store.

Closures and detours will be required, according to the Wellfleet DPW. Parking in the area will likely be a challenge each day. Parking spaces are available behind the area in the Cape Cod Rail Trail parking lot.

Signs are posted on Route 6 at Blackfish Creek to alert motorists to the project.
