Town of Dennis announces paving project for June 25 & 26

Motorists should expect delays

On Monday, the Town of Dennis announced a paving project slated to begin on Wednesday, June 25 and continue through Thursday, June 26. Sunderland, MA-based All-States Asphalt, Inc. will be chip sealing several roads in South Dennis, Dennisport and West Dennis. Chip sealing is a surface treatment used to cover aging surfaces, fill micro-cracks and seal and waterproof pavement, according to the All-States website.

Motorist should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes.

In South Dennis work will be done on Upper County Road (from Route 134 to Aunty Debby's Road), on Mayfair Road (from Old Bass River Road to Follins Pond Road, and from Peter Oliver Road to Setucket Road) and on Center Street (from Upper County Road to Searsville Road).

In Dennisport work will be done on Depot Street (from Great Western Road to Route 28). In West Dennis work will be done on Lighthouse Road and School Street.

The work will only be done weather-permitting, according to a notice from the town.
