Yarmouth Special Town Meeting set for July 28

Warrant contains six articles for residents to consider

A Yarmouth Special Town Meeting is set for Monday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Matacheese Middle School in West Yarmouth.

The warrant contains six articles for residents to consider.

The first article requests that the town be able to redeposit checks issued by the town that have yet to be cashed or claimed.

The second and third articles are about the dedication of land for "the uses of transportation and recreation for the construction, maintenance and operation of a shared use pathway constituting a portion of the Cape Cod Rail Trail".

The fourth article requests a calendar change in the Yarmouth Code as pertains to the Annual Town Meeting, changing "on the first Monday in April" to "on the first Saturday in May".

Article 5 is a pitch for an additional $278,311 from the stabilization fund and/or free cash for the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District assessment as voted under Article 3 in this year's Annual Town Meeting. The additional monies would bring the appropriation to $28,435,698.

Article 6 is also financial, and seeks to amend/reduce several line time totals from Article 10 as voted at this year's Annual Town Meeting on April 7.

The entire Special Town Meeting warrant is available for review at the Yarmouth Town Hall and online here.
