Bourne man attacked by Samurai sword wielding suspect

BOURNE - A 39-year-old man was flown to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence early Sunday morning following an alleged Samurai sword attack. Just after 1:35 a.m., police responded to the home at 355 Shore Road where the unidentified victim had reportedly been attacked.

The victim told responding officers that he had been stabbed several times with a Samurai sword and that his attacker was still in the yard.

Bourne Fire & Rescue transported the victim by ambulance to State Trooper Station D-7 at the Bourne Rotary to meet a MedFlight helicopter crew. The man's injuries are believed to be serious.

Officers located the 28-year-old suspect in the side yard and placed him under arrest.

The unidentified suspect was transported to the Bourne Police Station for processing. He will face assault with a deadly weapon charges in court Monday.

Officers also confiscated the 3' Samurai sword reportedly used in the attack.

The incident is under investigation.
