Mashpee to hold hazardous waste collection and shred on August 16

Time for a little mid summer spring cleaning

The Town of Mashpee, in conjunction with Barnstable County (Cape Cod Extension), will hold a household hazardous waste collection at Mashpee High School on Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The household hazardous waste collection is open to all Mashpee residents and homeowners. Before you head to out, you'll need to do a little research to determine what is considered hazardous household waste and what is not. The Cape Cod Extension and each town on the Cape has produced a handy brochure for resident use. See the Mashpee brochure here.

Saturday offers a "spring cleaning" bonus for Mashpee residents. In addition to the household hazardous waste collection, there will be onsite secure shredding. Bring your unwanted (or no longer needed) paperwork and get rid of it safely and securely.

Questions may be directed to the Mashpee Department of Public Works at 508-539-1420.

Mashpee High School is at 500 Old Barnstable Road.

Additional household hazardous waste collections will be held across the Cape through October. See the list here.
