On Saturday, August 23 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., there will be a meet and greet with Maura Healey at the Moonakis Cafe in East Falmouth. Healey is one of two Democrats (Warren Tolman is the other) looking to replace Attorney General Martha Coakley.
Coakley's bid for the corner office has cleared the way for a new head of the AG's office.
Healey and Tolman will duke it out in the Democratic state primary on September 9. On the Republican side, there is only one candidate for AG, John Miller.
Healey has worked in the Attorney General's Office for the past seven years, heading the Civil Rights Division, then the Public Protection & Advocacy Bureau and the Business & Labor Bureau.
The Moonakis Cafe, at 460 Waquoit Highway in E. Falmouth, is owned by diehard Dem Paul Rifkin and was most recently the site of a gathering for gubernatorial candidate Don Berwick.
