Residents have four financial articles to consider

The Town of Wellfleet has scheduled a Special Town Meeting for Monday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wellfleet Elementary School on Lawrence Road.

Residents will have four financial articles to vote on during the meeting. Articles 1 and 2 are needed to correct votes taken in April, according to a town release. Both articles are to amend the source of funding for actions taken under Article 17 and Article 18 at the Town Meeting in April.

Article 3 is the vote for an annual stipend of $884.62 for the town clerk for being certified by the Massachusetts Association of Town Clerks.

According to the warrant, Wellfleet was able to refinance its long term  debt after the Town Meeting in April. Article 4 is the vote for an appropriation reduction for long term debt service charge.

Residents may review the warrant prior to the meeting at the Town Hall or online here.

Prior to the Special Town Meeting, the Friends of the Herring River will give a brief presentation about the Herring River Restoration Project.
