Chatham sewer work to close section of Queen Anne Road

Main Street to Stepping Stones Road will be closed to through traffic during construction

Chatham's major sewer construction project is slated to continue on Tuesday, October 14. Weather-permitting, work will begin on Old Queen Anne Road, where the portion of the road from Main Street to Stepping Stones Road will be closed to through traffic.

Work will be done Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is expected to last three weeks. During this time, a detour will be in place: Main Street to Heritage Lane to Stepping Stones Road to Old Queen Anne Road.

Residents will be allowed access at all times, according to a release from the Chatham Department of Public Works.

Roads will reopen to all traffic on evenings, holidays and weekends. During the hours work is being done, signage will be in place and police officers will be present to assist motorists.

The work is part of the town's collection system construct project. Complete information is available on the project website here. See the zone map here.
