Falmouth Police Blotter: 8/4/14 to 9/2/14

Four OUIs, seven suicide attempts/threats, open and gross lewdness and one assault to murder charge
Falmouth police activity for 8/4/14 to 9/2/14.

During the 4-week period of Monday, August 4, 2014 through Tuesday, September 2, 2014, the officers of the Falmouth Police Department responded to 2,652 calls for service. (There was no log available for Thursday, August 28, 2014.)

Over the course of four weeks there were 26 domestic disturbances (6 arrests, one protective custody), 20 assault and battery calls (one arrest), 46 disorderly disturbances (3 arrests, 6 protective custody), 8 reports of harassment and 18 threats (one protective custody). There were 50 suspicious person reports (2 arrests) and 42 suspicious vehicle calls (2 arrests). Officers were called in to preserve the peace on 16 occasions.

Officers responded to 34 larcenies (one arrest), 14 residential break-ins (one arrest), 33 motor vehicle/trailer break-ins and 2 business break-ins. There were 3 vehicles reported stolen (one vehicle recovered), 10 reports of shoplifting (one arrest), 8 reports of identity theft/fraud, 2 reports of forgery/uttering, one license plate reported lost/stolen, one robbery and one prowler. 

There were 19 restraining order service calls (10 in hand), one harassment order service (in hand), 9 warrant services (7 arrests), 21 summons related calls (12 in hand), 2 restraining order violations and one harassment order violation.

Officers assisted citizens on 80 occasions (one protective custody), other police departments on 11 occasions (2 arrests), other agencies on one occasion and the Falmouth Fire Department on 25 occasions (one protective custody). There was one fire. Officers conducted 2 probation checks.  

There were 10 medical calls, three Section 12 (mental illness) calls, 4 Section 35 (drug and alcohol) calls, 19 missing persons, 20 intoxicated person calls (7 protective custody), three overdoses, 69 welfare checks (2 protective custody) and 7 suicide threats/attempts. There were five unattended deaths, one of which was the call about remains found in Beebe Woods on August 17.

Officers responded to 118 sounding alarms (one bylaw citation). There were 25 unwanted guest calls (one arrest), 39 animal complaints, 30 reports of vandalism, 61 noise complaints, 23 fireworks complaints, 8 drug law violations (2 arrests), 7 reports of trespassing, 4 reports of illegal dumping, one civil matter, four annoying phone call reports, 17 ATV/dirt bike complaints (one arrest, 2 citations), 10 reports of gunshots and one reported shooting.

One hundred and twelve motorists were pulled over, 31 citations/warnings were issued, 2 people were arrested and 2 vehicles were towed. There were 42 reports of erratic driving and 87 miscellaneous traffic calls (one tow, one citation). There were 108 parking violations calls (42 citations/tickets and 4 tows). There was one bicycle accident.

There were 46 arrests:

  • On Monday, September 1 at 8:47 p.m., Devon B. Pelrine, 18, of 550 Teaticket Highway, Apt. 903 in Falmouth, was arrested during a disorderly disturbance on Ostrom Road and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a person 60+/disabled, assault and battery on a police officer and threat to commit a crime.
  • On Monday, September 1 at 2:48 a.m., Abdull-Malik Bartelle, 53, of 21 Gifford Street, Apt. 3 in Falmouth, was arrested during a larceny call on Main Street and charged with larceny from a person. There were also two outstanding warrants.
  • On Monday, September 1 at 2:01 a.m., Brendan T. Howe, 22, of 21 Millfarm Way in Falmouth, was arrested during a suspicious person call at John Parker Road and East Falmouth Highway for possession of a Class A substance, two counts of possession of a Class B substance and possession of one ounce or less of marijuana. There was also an outstanding warrant.
  • On Sunday, August 31 at 5:36 p.m., Lynne A. White, 55, of 58 Rose Morin Lane, Apt. 48 in Falmouth, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Homestead Lane and charged with possession of a Class A substance.
  • On Friday, August 29 at 7:04 p.m., Carrie Lynn Acosta, 27, of 498 Locust Field Road in Falmouth, was arrested during a shoplifting call on Teaticket Highway on an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • On Friday, August 29 at 5:33 p.m., John E. Gerry, 63, of 17 Bridge Street in Falmouth, was arrested following a motor vehicle crash on Teaticket Highway and charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.
  • On Thursday, August 28 at 2:04 a.m., Thomas E. Bunnell Jr, 40, of 485 Teaticket Highway, Apt. 15 in Waquoit, was arrested during a domestic disturbance at that address and charged with assault on a family/household member, malicious destruction of property $250+ and disorderly conduct.
  • On Wednesday, August 27 at 11:49 p.m., James Metellus, 24, of 246 Weir St., Apt. 1 in Taunton, was arrested during a suspicious motor vehicle call on Worcester Court and charged with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute. Metellus was arrested with Gonsalves, see below.
  • On Wednesday, August 27 at 11:49 p.m., Peter C. Gonsalves IV, 28, of 510 Plymouth in Middleboro, was arrested during a suspicious motor vehicle call on Worcester Court and charged with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute. There were also three outstanding warrants. Gonsalves was arrested with Metellus, see above.
  • On Wednesday, August 27 at 12:09 p.m., a 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on Jones Road during a warrant service.
  • On Monday, August 25 at 7:10 p.m., Ronald J. Renaud Jr, 19, of 49 Old Main Street in Falmouth, was arrested during a warrant service on Ter Heun Drive.
  • On Monday, August 25 at 12:39 a.m., Nicole M. White, 30, of 25 East Lane in Cotuit, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop at Brick Kiln Road and Locust Field Road and charged with failure to stop/yield and possession of a Class E substance.
  • On Sunday, August 24 at 6:22 p.m., Michael Anthony Costa, 26, of 32 Brush Hill Circle in East Falmouth, was arrested during a warrant service on Teaticket Highway.
  • On Sunday, August 24 at 5:11 p.m., Ryan William Marks, 24, of 370 Route 149 in Marstons Mills, was arrested during a drug law violation call on Scranton Ave. on four outstanding warrants.
  • On Sunday, August 24 at 12:28 a.m., Christopher A. Horn, 31, of 57 Red Squirrel Lane in Chester, NH, was arrested during an assault and battery call on Quaker Road and charged with assault and battery on a person +60/disabled and malicious destruction of property over $250.
  • On Saturday, August 23 at 9:10 p.m., Michael F. Lyons, 55, of 32 Natal Ave. in East Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance at that address and charged with assault and battery on family/household member.
  • On Saturday, August 23 at 1:33 a.m., Shawn M. Oller, 38, of 19 Young Road, Apt. B in Falmouth, was arrested during an attempt to locate on Pinehurst Road on two outstanding warrants.
  • On Friday, August 22 at 4:41 p.m., a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested during a follow up investigation on Teaticket Highway and charged with receiving stolen property $250+.
  • On Friday, August 22 at 4:20 p.m., Charlton C. Brown, 30, of 30 Kathy Ann Lane in Falmouth, was arrested during a warrant service on Main Street.
  • On Friday, August 22 at 1:49 p.m., Ariana Marie Peterson, 25, of 24 Scranton Ave., Apt. 106 in Falmouth, was arrested during a follow up investigation on Main Street. Charges not listed.
  • On Friday, August 22 at 12:24 a.m., Robert Allen Green Jr, 35, of 29 Circular Ave. in Falmouth, was arrested during an assault and battery call on Homestead Lane and charged with assault to murder, malicious destruction of property over $250 and larceny over $250.
  • On Thursday, August 21 at 5:28 p.m., a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested during a motorbike/ATV complaint on Great Bay Street and charged with unregistered snow/rec. vehicle, operating at snow/rec. vehicle on a public way, failure to stop for police on a snow/rec. vehicle, negligent/reckless operation of a snow/rec. vehicle and helmet violation on a snow/rec. vehicle.
  • On Thursday, August 21 at 1:42 p.m., Darryl S. Green, 42, of 187 Central Ave in Falmouth, was arrested during a warrant service at that address.
  • On Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 a.m., Antone T. Andrade, 34, of 70 Clay Pond Road in Bourne, was arrested during an assist other PD call at that address on a federal DEA warrant.
  • On Thursday, August 21 at 5:38 a.m., Duane Curtis Gomez, 39, of 50 Barrows Road in East Falmouth, was arrested during an assist other PD call at that address on a federal DEA warrant.
  • On Wednesday, August 20 at 9:08 p.m., Benjamin S. Piearson, 29, of 2 Backus River Road in Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance at that address and charged with domestic assault and battery (simple).
  • On Wednesday, August 20 at 5:46 p.m., Brittany Lynn Lewis, 22, of 5 Pinehurst Road in East Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance at that address and charged with assault and battery (simple).
  • On Wednesday, August 20 at 10:56 a.m., Branch Jeffrey Parrish, 55, of 48 North Falmouth Highway, was arrested during a warrant service on Water Street.
  • On Tuesday, August 19 at 5:57 p.m., Aurora D. Bunnell, 40, of 485 Teaticket Highway, Apt. 15 in Teaticket, was arrested following a motor vehicle accident on Teaticket Highway and charged with OUI-liquor, leaving the scene of property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
  • On Monday, August 18 at 12:07 p.m., Nathan Joseph Bosworth, 27, of 55 Fordham Road in East Falmouth, was arrested during a suspicious person call at Old Banrstable Road and Hayway Road and charged with disorderly conduct (subsequent offense) and resisting arrest.
  • On Friday, August 15 at 8:17 p.m., Raymond L. Lopes, 45, of 380 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth, was arrested during a drug law violation on Locustfield Road and charged with possession of a Class E substance.
  • On Thursday, August 14 at 5:15 a.m., Vincent James Carlino, 21, of 79 Carriage Shop Road in Falmouth, was arrested during a search warrant at that address and charged with possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a firearm without an FID card, improper storage of a firearm and firearm violation with one prior violent/drug crime. Three other people were also arrested during the raid on outstanding warrants: 24-year-old Michael Joseph Costa, 43-year-old Tina M. Carlino and 25-year-old William Michael Matchem. See story here.
  • On Tuesday, August 12 at 11:51 p.m., Geoffrey M. Spooner, 35, of 27 Bourne Road in Plymouth, was arrested during a disorderly disturbance on Scranton Ave. on an arrest warrant.
  • On Tuesday, August 12 at 9:34 p.m., Jodie Murphy, 49, of 11 Beagle in East Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance on Lake Shore Drive North and charged with assault and battery (simple).
  • On Sunday, August 10 at 1:16 a.m., Heath C. Morse, 25, of 30 Amvets Ave. in Falmouth, was arrested following a motor vehicle crash on Scranton Ave. and charged with OUI-liquor and leaving the scene of property damage. A 35-year-old passenger was also taken into custody during the incident.
  • On Saturday, August 9 at 4:07 p.m., Gregory H. Eldridge, 51, of 204 Seacoast Shores in East Falmouth, was arrested following a motor vehicle crash at East Falmouth Highway and Muriel Lane and charged with OUI-liquor (3rd offense).
  • On Saturday, August 9 at 3:08 a.m., Andy J. Morales, 35, homeless, was arrested during an unwanted guest call on Davis Straits and charged with breaking and entering a vehicle/boat at nighttime for a felony, larceny under $250 and intimidating a witness.
  • On Friday, August 8 at 1:31 a.m., Lucas Reidl, 19, of 10 Pocasset Street in Falmouth, was arrested during a disturbance/disorderly call on Sandwich Road and charged with disorderly conduct and open and gross lewdness.
  • On Thursday, August 7 at 1:11 a.m., Tina M. Mendoza, 36, of 9 Billy Mitchell Drive in E. Falmouth, was arrested during a residential breaking and entering call on Trotting Park Road and charged with violation of an abuse prevention order and malicious destruction of property $250+
  • On Wednesday, August 6 at 6:02 p.m., John J. Hurtuk, 23, of 159 Sandwich Road in Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance on Teaticket Highway and charged with assault and battery (simple).
  • On Tuesday, August 5 at 11:23 p.m., Ashley Lyn Peterson, 24, of 292 Brick Kiln Road in E. Falmouth, was arrested during a domestic disturbance at that address and charged with assault and battery (simple).
  • On Monday, August 4 at 4:50 p.m., Kristin A. Sullivan, 28, of 27 Churchill Road in Falmouth, was arrested during a search warrant service at that address on four outstanding warrants.
  • On Monday, August 4 at 3:03 p.m., Jacob M. Ewald, 19, of 81 Sam Turner Road in E. Falmouth, was arrested during a follow up investigation and charged with larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property $250+. Ewald was accused of stealing a kayak and trying to sell it online.
