Yarmouth Police Blotter: 9/29/14 to 10/6/14

Eighteen arrests, no overdoses

During the week of Monday, September 29, 2014 to Monday, October 6, 2014, the officers of the Yarmouth Police Department responded to 855 calls for service.

Over the week there were 7 domestic disturbance calls (1 arrest), 3 assault calls (1 arrest) and one assault and battery call (1 arrest). There were 2 threats to commit a crime and one report of harassment. There were 3 restraining order violations reported (1 arrest), one restraining order request and 6 restraining order service attempts (2 made). There were two warrant services both ending in arrest. There were 2 reports of malicious destruction.

Officers investigated 15 suspicious motor vehicles, 9 reports of suspicious activity and 11 suspicious persons (1 arrest). They responded to 10 burglar alarms at businesses, 9 at private homes and one at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. There was one panic alarm at Stop & Shop on Station Ave. (unfounded).  Officers investigated one open door. There was one summons service (made), one general disturbance and one intoxicated person was placed under arrest.

There were 7 larcenies (one criminal summons), 5 reports of shoplifting (2 criminal summons), 2 reports of fraud, 3 residential break-ins (1 arrest), 2 commercial break-in and one motor vehicle break-in.

There were 13 medical problems and 16 welfare checks conducted. There was one missing person reported and 3 suicidal persons. There was one psychological/medical call and one custodial interference call.

Officers were requested on 4 occasions. Officer assisted other public agencies on 11 occasions. There were 12 compliance checks, 3 drug offenses, 1 K9 deployment and one request to keep the peace. There were 2 animal complaints, 2 reports of gun shots, one civil complaint (one arrest), one juvenile complaint, one annoying phone calls complaint, one illegal dumping complaint, 4 noise complaints, one fireworks complaint and one complaint about a solicitor. 

Ninety-six motorists were pulled over, 5 summons were issued, 6 citations were issued and 4 warnings were issued. There were 5 arrests and 1 car was towed. There was one car repossessed during th week. Officers investigated 9 motor vehicle complaints. There were also 13 other motor vehicle-related calls including disabled cars and radar sessions.

  • Saturday, October 4 at 1:32 p.m., during a suspicious person call at the Holly Tree Resort on Route 28
  • Friday, October 3 at 11:37 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop at Winslow Gray Road and Anthony Road
  • Friday, October 3 at 11:36 p.m., following a motor vehicle accident on Route 28
  • Friday, October 3 at 4:41 p.m., during an assault call on Neptune Lane
  • Friday, October 3 at 1:36 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop west of Exit 8 on Route 6
  • Friday, October 3 at 12:31 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop on Longfellow Drive
  • Thursday, October 2 at 11:53 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop on Union Street at Exit 8
  • Thursday, October 2 at 6:55 p.m., during a restraining order violation on Bakers Path
  • Thursday, October 2 at 11:30 a.m., during a domestic disturbance on Bakers Path
  • Thursday, October 2 at 7:08 a.m., during an assault and battery call at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School on Station Ave.
  • Wednesday, October 1 at 9:12 a.m., during a warrant service, walk-in at the station
  • Wednesday, October 1 at 12:42 a.m., following a motor vehicle accident at North Dennis Road and White's Path (3rd OUI charges, see story here)
  • Tuesday, September 30 at 10:11 p.m., during a civil complaint on Pluto Lane
  • Tuesday, September 30 at 12:48 p.m., during a residential break-in on Deep Brook Road
  • Monday, September 29 at 8:33 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop at Harpoon Lane and Weir Road
  • Monday, September 29 at 10:24 a.m., during a warrant service at the tennis courts on Regional Ave.
  • Monday, September 29 at 9:55 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop at Highbank Road and Sheridan Road

  • Friday, October 3 at 11:36 p.m. on Route 28 (arrest)
  • Friday, October 3 at 10:16 p.m. on Route 28
  • Thursday, October 2 at 9:56 a.m. at Regional Ave. and Sheridan Road
  • Wednesday, October 1 at 2:58 p.m. at Route 6A and Manchester Road
