Harwich police experience business line phone issues

911 still functioning for emergencies

Update: According to a robo-call received by Harwich residents, phone lines at the Town Hall and the Brooks Free Library have also been affected.

HARWICH - The Harwich Police Department is currently experiencing problems with their business telephone lines. According to Officer Aram Goshgarian, the issue began last night and continues through this morning.

911 is still functioning correctly and without issue for emergency calls.

Anyone who needs to contact the department Friday morning on a non-emergency matter should call 508-432-1212. Those with emergencies should still dial 911.

The service disruption reportedly stems from an issue with an off-Cape fiber optic cable, according to police.

Police are told their business line service will be restore within the next few hours.
