Portion of Blacksmith Road closed indefinitely

FALMOUTH - Falmouth police Thursday afternoon announced the closure of a section of Blacksmith Shop Road due to a fire. In a release, police said the section of Blacksmith Shop Road from Thomas B. Landers Road to Blacksmith Shop Farms is closed.

Firefighting equipment is blocking the roadway as Falmouth firefighters continue to battle a large mulch fire at Blacksmith Shop Farms. The fire reportedly began on Tuesday and continues to burn.

The road closure is indefinite, police said.

Blacksmith Shop Farms is a brush disposal company that also sells mulch and other landscaping materials.
