Cape Cod Bird Club offers summer camp scholarship

Scholarship covers tuition cost at National Audubon camp on Hog Island

The Cape Cod Bird Club (CCBC) announced a full-assistance scholarship for a Cape Cod teen to attend a 6-day/5-night summer birding camp in Maine. The scholarship will cover the $995 tuition for a National Audubon Society camp on Hog Island.

The scholarship is open to Cape teens between the ages of 14 and 17, according to a CCBC release. Applicants must submit a completed application and a 250-500 word essay by January 6, 2015.

The scholarship recipient will be announced in February. Once announced, the recipient must register with Audubon and CCBC will pay the tuition. The recipient is responsible for all other incidental costs including transportation to and from the camp.

The application is available online here. The completed application and essay should be sent to CCBC Bird Camp Scholarship, Attn: Charlie Martin, PO Box 704, Harwich, MA 02645.
