One person arrested twice--first time for OUI, second time as a fugitive from justice on a government warrant

During the 4-week period of Thursday, November 6, 2014 through Monday, December 1, 2014, the officers of the Brewster Police Department responded to 1,285 calls for service.

Over the month, there was one disturbance, 4 trespassing declarations and officers were called in once to keep the peace. Extra patrols were requested in three different neighborhoods. There were 5 warrant calls and 2 warrant services. Nine summons service attempts were made. There were 19 reports of suspicious activity.

Officers responded to 4 medical emergencies and conducted 14 well-being checks. There was one drug overdose. There was one Project Lifesaver call.

There were 7 reports of larceny/forgery/fraud and one report of a burglary/breaking and entering that had occurred in the past. There were 34 sounding burglar alarms.

Officers assisted citizens on 16 occasions, the Brewster Fire Department on 5 occasions, other law enforcement agencies on 13 occasions (3 arrests) and other agencies including probation on 9 occasions. There was one fire/hazmat situation and one sex offender registry.

There were 6 complaints, 3 noise complaints, 33 animal control calls, one ATV/dirt bike complaint, one car alarm complaint and one report of vandalism. There were 2 reports of annoying phone calls, one telephone complaint and one report of crimes involving a computer. 

Two-hundred and five motorists were pulled over. Brewster does not provide the number of citations/warnings issued. There were 134 motor vehicle-related calls including traffic enforcement, radar studies and disabled vehicles. There were 2 parking complaints, 15 motor vehicle encounters and 11 operations complaints. The drug task force met twice and officers assisted with child car seat installations 4 times.

There were 9 arrests (one person twice):

  • On Wednesday, November 26 at 10:27 a.m., David J. Lake, 49, of 528 Slough Road in Brewster, was arrested at that address during a warrant service.
  • On Saturday, November 22 at 9:47 a.m., Mark R. Johnson, 42, of 42 Locust Road in Orleans, was arrested at the Brewster Police Station on a warrant.
  • On Sunday, November 16 at 12:45 p.m., Ryan Doyle, 36, of 249 Great Fields Road in Brewster, was arrested at that address during a warrant service.
  • On Sunday, November 16 at 9:49 a.m., Alejandro Rios, 39 of 785 Route 28, Apt. 9 in South Yarmouth, was again arrested during an assist other law enforcement agency call at the Brewster Police Station on a fugitive from justice government warrant.
  • On Sunday, November 16 at 2:06 a.m., Alejandro Rios, 39, of 785 Route 28, Apt. 9 in South Yarmouth, was arrested during motor vehicle stop on Main Street and charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lanes violation.
  • On Friday, November 14 at 9:35 p.m., Jill Sparrow, 38, of Depot Street in Harwich, was arrested during an assist Orleans Police call at Millstone Road and King Philip Road on an outstanding warrant.
  • On Friday, November 14 at 9:35 p.m., Hope M. Edwards, 37, of 50 Fresh Holes Road in Hyannis, was arrested during an assist Orleans Police call at Millstone Road and King Philip Road on an outstanding warrant.
  • On Thursday, November 13 at 3:58 a.m., Christina Marie Harrington, 33, of 17 Bassett Lane in Brewster, was arrest following a motor vehicle accident at Satucket Road and Leland Road and charged with OUI-liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.
  • On Sunday, November 9 at 9:15 p.m., William M. Reynolds, 25, of 656 Millstone Road in Brewster, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop at Harwich Road and Blackberry Lane and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection sticker.

  • Sunday, November 23 at 12:29 p.m. at Long Pond Road and Snow Road
  • Friday, November 21 at 2:39 a.m. on Harwich Road
  • Wednesday, November 19 at 3:44 p.m. at Main Street and Underpass Road (with injury)
  • Wednesday, November 19 at 2:11 p.m. on West Gate Road
  • Friday, November 14 at 12:25 p.m. on Run Hill Road
  • Thursday, November 13 at 3:58 a.m. at Satucket Road and Leland Road (see OUI arrest above)
  • Tuesday, November 11 at 4:07 p.m on Commons Way
  • Tuesday, November 11 at 2:12 p.m. on Harwich Road
  • Tuesday, November 11 at 11:56 a.m. on Main Street
