The Brewster Board of Selectmen will hold a public forum on Saturday, January 17 at 10 a.m. at Town Hall to update citizens on the Fire Rescue Station project.
Richard Pomeroy, the town's project manager will be on hand to review the status of the beleaguered project including different design concepts and cost analysis. A representative from the design company, CDM Maguire, will also be present at the Jan. 17 forum.
Brewster residents initially shot down the plans for the demolition of the current facility and construction of a new facility in the spring when they voted against financing the planning, architectural, design and engineering services during the spring town meeting. Current plans which include construction of a new fire station and use of the current station as a department of natural resources housing facility carry a $13M+ price tag.
In August, the Brewster Board of Selectmen authorized the town's Building and Needs Assessment Committee (B&NAC) to resume work on the project. An email address ([email protected]) was created and residents were encouraged to submit their comments or questions or sign up for the committee's email list.
