Eight-week parenting series set to start Jan. 13 in Eastham

Weekly educational series presented by Cape Cod Children's Place

Parents can expect a bit of a boost during the eight-week parenting series, "Raising Healthy Families", set to start on January 13 in Eastham. The weekly program is offered by Cape Cod Children's Place and is lead by the organization's executive director and family support coordinator Cindy Horgan.

The program is offered at no charge and includes free dinner and childcare. Pre-registration is required.

Horgan will cover such topics as discipline without yelling, how to handle tantrums, understanding temperament and why kids do what they do. Parents will also learn the importance of setting boundaries and routines. 

The series begins on Tuesday, January 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and continues on January 20 & 27, February 3, 10 & 24 and March 3 and 10. It will be held at Eastham Elementary School, 200 Schoolhouse Road in Eastham.

To pre-register, call Cape Cod Children's Place at 508-240-3310 and leave your name and telephone number and the number of adults and the names and ages of children who will be attending. When leaving a message, also indicate if you need transportation to and from the class.

The "Raising Healthy Families" series is funded by a grant from the Bilezekian Family Foundation with additional funding through the Cahn Fund for Social Change.
