Falmouth firefighters battle blaze at Inn on the Square

FALMOUTH - Falmouth firefighters responded to a fire at the Inn on the Square around 3 a.m. Thursday. The inn is at 40 North Main Street in Falmouth. Firefighters arrived to find an outside fire extending into the walls of the inn.

Alarms sounded to alert both firefighters and occupants of the hotel, according to a fire official at the scene. 

There were guests in the inn at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters are investigating carelessly discarded cigarettes as a possible cause. The fire is not deemed suspicious.
