Barnstable police officer delivers baby girl

Mother gives birth to healthy baby at Hyannis motel

HYANNIS - For two Barnstable police officers, a routine medical call on Tuesday night turned out to be something quite the opposite. According to a Barnstable police release, Officers Armando Feliciano and Corbin Fries were dispatched to a Hyannis motel around 11:08 p.m. for an unknown medical emergency.

The officers arrived at the motel and were directed to a room where a woman was in advanced labor--about to give birth, police said.

As Hyannis firefighters were arriving, Officer Feliciano assisted the woman in delivering a healthy baby girl.

After being evaluated by Hyannis firefighters, mother and baby were transported to Cape Cod Hospital, according to the release.
