The Brooks Free Library in Harwich will undergo an extensive re-carpeting project over the next few weeks. According to a release from the library, regular hours will be affected and there will be a brief period during which the library will be closed.
Although the library has made every attempt to minimize the disruption, not all services will be available at all times, the release said.
Between Tuesday, June 9 and Friday, June 19, all programs including story hours, book discussions and writers groups have been canceled. From June 9-11, the library will be open, but the second floor will be closed. During this time, access to reference services and public computers for adults will not be available.
On Saturday, June 13, the library will close early at 1 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, June 18 at 10 a.m.
The Friends of Brooks Free Library will not be able to accept book donations until the end of the month.
The Brooks Free Library is at 739 Main Street in Harwich. For questions, call 508-430-7562. Regular updates will be available on the library's website here and on the library's Facebook and Twitter pages.
