As part of the summer reading program, both year-round and visiting children are encouraged to sign up, take part in the many fun and interesting events that are planned and of course, read.
The sign-up (end of June), events, contests and prizes vary from library to library within the CLAMS system (Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing) and at the Sandwich Public LIbrary which is not part of the CLAMS system.
In Barnstable, at the Hyannis Public Library, preschoolers through 7th graders are encouraged to begin signing up on June 25. Kids can read whatever they like and may be eligible for prizes including Ben & Jerry's ice cream cone coupons and toys. See more information here. At the Centerville Public Library, a kick-off party will be held on June 26. Sign up online here.
