BPD: Brew Run on August 8 will cause delays

37th annual Brew Run will start at 4 p.m. in Brewster

The 37th annual Brew Run will begin at 4 p.m. in Brewster on Saturday, August 8. The annual fundraiser begins and ends at the Wood Shed on Route 6A. In a release, Brewster police said motorists should expect delays in the area between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The 5.2 mile race starts on Route 6A and traffic will also be affected on Route 124, Route 137, Tubman Road and Lower Road.

During 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. motorists should expect delays along all of the route roads. Brewster police encourage motorists to seek alternate routes during the race.

Special event parking will be available at Eddy Elementary School just down the road from the start line on Route 6A. Shuttle buses will transport runners from the school to the start line between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Last year, more than 1,700 runners participated in the race. The run is a fundraiser for the Brewster Fire & Rescue Association.
