Mashpee Human Services to host food drive at tonight's town meeting

Come ready to vote with canned goods

Mashpee Human Services will host a food drive tonight during the Mashpee Town Meeting. The Town Meeting is on Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m. at Mashpee High School.

Residents heading to the meeting are asked to bring non-perishable foods. Healthy food donation suggestions include brown rice, whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, bran cereals, unsalted nuts, whole grain crackers, whole grain granola bars, no-sugar added canned fruits, low sodium soups, low sodium canned vegetables, powdered milk and instant breakfast drinks, according to Gail Wilson, Mashpee Human Services Director.

Toiletries including shampoo, soap and toothpaste will also be gladly accepted. The items collected during the town meeting will be divided among the food pantries that serve the Mashpee community.

During the town meeting, voters will be asked to consider 23 articles. The warrant for the October 19 meeting is available for review on the town's website here.
