Public Hearing on Dennis Port roadwork set for November 5

MassDOT to discuss design plans for section of Route 28

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will host a public hearing at the Dennis Police Station on Bob Crowell Road in South Dennis on Thursday, November 5 at 7 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed corridor and streetscape improvements for a section of Route 28 in Dennis Port.

The area to be discussed is from Dennis Commons Drive to Upper County Road.

Project #606707 will include the addition of ADA/AAB-compliant sidewalks to both sides of the road and a five foot wide bicycle path, according to a MassDOT notice. According to MassDOT, a secure right-of-way is required for the project. "Acquisitions in fee" and "permanent or temporary easements" may be required to complete the project.

Plans for the Dennis Port project will be on display at the police station one half hour before the meeting begins. Additional information is available on the MassDOT website here.
