Wellfleet to host rental assistance info session

For year-round Wellfleet renters who need some assistance

If you live in Wellfleet and are finding is difficult to make ends meet, the town will be hosting a rental assistance information session on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 p.m. at the Wellfleet Public Library.

The program, which is available to Wellfleet residents, is sponsored by the Wellfleet Housing Authority and is funded through a Community Preservation Committee grant.

Those in need of assistance must adhere to the program guidelines, complete an application and submit employment and income information for verification. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

The amount of assistance awarded is based on the number of qualified applicants. The Wellfleet Housing Authority may conduct a lottery should the number of applicants exceed funding.

Assistance is available for up to two years. Self-sufficiency counseling is mandatory for those approved for the program. Rentals must be legally registered with the town and will be inspected by the Wellfleet building inspector.

Low interest loans are also available for approved applicants.

The rental assistance packet is available here.

The Wellfleet Public Library is at 55 West Main Street.
