Town Neck Beach in Sandwich to close for beach re-nourishment Christmas Day

Sand of canal dredging will be used to re-nourish beach

The Town of Sandwich announced this week that Town Neck Beach, the Town Neck Beach parking lot and the Wood Ave. Extension will close on Christmas Day for the beach re-nourishment project.

During the project, sand removed from the Cape Cod Canal during the United States Army Corps of Engineers' dredging, will be transferred to Town Neck Beach.

Work will be conducted twenty-four hours and day, seven days a week until the project is completed, according to the town.

For safety reasons, no one will be allowed in the area during the project.
