Event hosted by area chambers of commerce

A statewide listening tour will make a stop in Falmouth next month. On Friday, September 9, State Senator Eric Lesser (D-Longmeadow) and State Representative Cory Atkins (D-Concord), the chairs of the Joint Commission on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development, will hold a session at Highfield Hall and Gardens.

There will be coffee and conversation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by the listening session from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Three Cape Cod representatives, State Senator Daniel Wolf, State Senator Vinny deMacedo and State Representative Brian Mannal, are members of the Joint Commission on Tourism, Arts & Cultural Development. The listening tour made previous stops in Norfolk County in March, Berkshire County in April, Hampshire County in May and Essex County in June. A session is scheduled for Middlesex County in October. The committee oversees funding, legislation and public policy as relates to tourism and the arts.

Those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP to [email protected] by Tuesday, September 6. Should you wish to speak at the event, be sure to indicate so when registering.

The event is hosted by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce.
