Dennis Water District to host public presentation on September 20

Route 28 water tank replacement to be discussed

The Dennis Water District will host a public information presentation on Tuesday, September 20 at 6 p.m. at the West Dennis Graded Schoolhouse, 67 School Street in West Dennis. The Route 28 water tank replacement will be the topic of the presentation.

In April during the annual meeting of the Dennis Water District, district voters approved the funding (Warrant Article 7) for the $4,000,000 project. The project involves the replacement of the existing 500,000 gallon water storage tank with a 1,000,000 gallon composite-style storage tank. The $4,000,000 project would also include engineering and design costs, demolition and debris removal of the original  tank and laying and relaying of new or existing water mains to deliver water to and from the new tank.

The new tank will be erected in the same location as the original tank, according to the Dennis Water District.

During the presentation attendees will learn about the final plans, the design and the schedule for the project.

The presentation is open to the public.
