Mashpee Police issue injured coyote alert

Notify police if you see this critter

Mashpee Police issued the following public advisory at 8 a.m. Thursday:

Residents in the Ferngully Pass area of Mashpee should be aware of an adult coyote that is injured and in the area. It has suffered a leg injury to the point where it is semi-immobile and therefore be seeking easy prey such as small animals. Residents of the area are asked to keep a lookout for this animal. Our Animal Control Officer has been issued a temporary license for trapping and is hoping to be able to do so. Please contact him via MPD with any sightings.
