LGBTQ Ballroom Dance

Classes start January 8th with Coach Adam Spencer...
Adam Spencer, North American Same-Sex Ballroom Dance Champion

Studio 878 and Adam in Chatham are proud to announce a new outreach initiative, Building Bridges with Ballroom. Reaching out to specific populations of the Cape to share the joys of ballroom dance, we are offering a series of group classes for specific communities. Beginning
January 8, 2017, we will be hosting the LGBTQ community, providing a safe environment for individuals or couples interested in learning the art of ballroom dance without fear of prejudice.

This five-week series culminates just prior to the annual GAYLA ball at the Hyannis Cape Codder on February 11 – a perfect opportunity to exercise newly acquired ballroom skills.

Coach Adam Spencer, international champion in ballroom and Latin dance, also holds the title of North American same-sex champion, awarded at the San Francisco National Championships in 2014.

Weekly classes will be held in Provincetown Sundays from 4 to 5 p.m., January 8 through February 5 at the Anchor Inn hotel lobby on Commercial Street. On Monday evenings during the same time period (January 9 - February 6), classes will be also be held in Chatham Studio 878, 878 Main street, from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost per class is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Proceeds will benefit our Youth Scholarship Program, Chance to Dance.
