An Uxbridge Cub Scout leader and instructional assistant at Northbridge High School was arrested on child pornography charges Thursday following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, according to a published report on the Worcester Telegram website.
Jason A. Andolina, 42, of Uxbridge is a 1993 graduate of Harwich High School. He appeared Thursday in U.S. District Court in Worcester.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in Boston confirmed to the Telegram that Mr. Andolina is a Cub Scout leader. The Telegram reports that he is a leader in Pack 25 in Uxbridge.
Andolina was employed as an instructional assistant at Northbridge High School. The school superintendent said, in a message to parents, that she “immediately removed him from the workplace.”
The accused was also active in Uxbridge PTO groups according to a Google search, including time as secretary of the Taft School PTO and active in the Uxbridge Elementary School PTO.
The DHS investigation has been ongoing since March 2016. A preliminary detention hearing is scheduled for Monday.
